We've Been Busy
Over the past few years, the management and field staff of the Grand Concourse Authority have been very busy with some major projects in the St. John's metro area. Here are just a few:
Bidgood Park

For the past few years the Grand Concourse Authority, at the request of the City of St. John's and the Friends of Bidgood Park, has been working on the design and development of a 38 acre park system in the Goulds area. Upon
completion, Bidgood Park will have an extensive walkway system passing through forested areas and a beautiful wetland ecosystem. Main park features will include a community centre and museum, a model farm and barn area, a natural swimming pool, an off leash dog park, a playground, an outdoor educational classroom and a lookout silo feature which overlooks the entire park.
We are also investigating the potential to make the park environmentally friendly by using solar and wind energy to provide the power needed for park operations. Currently the Grand Concourse Authority is seeking funds to support the development of this worthwhile and unique park system.
Walk construction, landscape development, bridge construction and several other activities have already been initiated by the Grand Concourse Authority.

Rotary Park
Over the past few years, the Grand Concourse Authority, on behalf of the City of St. John's, has been busy upgrading and expanding Rotary

Sunshine Park. Trail upgrades and new trail construction were initiated in 2007 and will continue into 2010. Additional new park features include a new paved parking lot and park entrance, a pedestrian bridge near Milley's Pool, a new stone retaining wall, and a new beach area. Extensive trail development for year-round use has been initiated on new sections of the park, east of Bennett's Road.
