Maintenance factors need to be considered in the planning stages
of a project before any actual construction begins. When walkways,
trails and park spaces are designed and constructed with maintenance in
mind, you help ensure the long term viabilty of your community space.
With this in mind the Grand Concourse Authority developed a
comprehensive GIS based maintenance management system that allows us to
keep an inventory of all walkways and associated amenities. Scheduled
maintenance activities are recorded and filed and we also hold a
library of photos, as-built-drawings and other important imformation
related to our walkway network.
As a guide for maintenance crews, we have also
outlines maintenance and horticultural practices that can be followed by any maintenance worker.
